Setting up periodic checks
Some compliance tasks happen weekly, fortnightly or monthly — not daily. Seito's Periodic Checks module handles these as Yes/No checklists grouped into named categories (e.g. 'Weekly Record', 'Monthly Record'). A 'No' response requires a mandatory corrective action note and automatically opens a linked Action Log entry.
Open periodic check settings
From your Site Dashboard, click 'Periodic Checks', then the settings cog. Manager+ only.
Create or rename a category
Categories are your top-level groups (e.g. 'Weekly Record', 'Monthly Equipment'). Add as many as you need; they appear as cards on the main Periodic Checks page.
Add checks to a category
Inside a category, click 'Add Check'. Name it (e.g. 'Supervisor walkthrough completed'), pick a frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly), and optionally add a description.
Complete checks
On the Periodic Checks page, open a category to see its due checks. Tap Yes or No for each. A 'No' requires a corrective action note and automatically raises an Action Log entry — the linked action shows beneath the check with a real-time status badge.
Drill into an action
Click the linked action badge to deep-link straight to that entry in the Action Log (with scroll + highlight) so you can resolve it without losing your place.
Review history
History is grouped into collapsible 'session' cards by day and author, with a count of total checks and any flagged issues — easy to skim during a self-audit.
Tips
- Start with what your EHO or food safety consultant recommends — the pre-loaded recommended set is a good baseline.
- If you delete a check that has history, Seito soft-deletes it so the audit trail is preserved.
- Use the Action Log deep-link to resolve issues immediately rather than letting them stack up.
