Copying setup between sites & syncing menus
If you run more than one site, you rarely want to build everything twice. Seito lets you copy chosen parts of one site's setup to another, and — for allergen menus specifically — keep sites permanently in step so a change at your master site appears everywhere.
Copy when you add a site
In the Add site dialog, choose a site to copy from and tick which parts you want: shifts, fridges & freezers, cleaning tasks, periodic checks, and the allergen menu. Everything is ticked by default — untick what you don't need.
Copy into an existing site
Open Site Settings for the site you want to fill in and use 'Copy configuration from another site'. Pick the source site and the parts to bring across.
Add alongside, or replace
If the site already has some of what you've chosen, you'll be asked which you want. 'Add alongside' keeps what's there and adds the copies. 'Replace' clears the way for the new setup — anything with recorded history is switched off rather than deleted, so your past logs and reports stay intact.
Follow another site's allergen menu
On the Allergens page, use 'Follow another site's menu' and choose the master site. Items, groups and categories are copied immediately and then kept up to date automatically every time the master changes.
What happens while a site is following
Editing items and menus is locked at the following site, with a notice showing which site it follows. Publishing, branding, the public link and the QR code all stay under that site's own control — so each location keeps its own printed code.
Unlinking
Unlink at any time. The site keeps everything it has at that moment and editing is unlocked again — nothing is removed.
Tips
- Copying never brings across logs, history or published pages — only the setup itself.
- Pick one site as the master for menus (usually your flagship or central kitchen) and have the rest follow it.
- A following site can't itself be a master, which keeps things predictable — link every other site directly to the master.
