Managing cleaning schedules
Seito's cleaning module covers two distinct workflows: a recurring schedule that drives your daily/weekly/monthly compliance, and ad-hoc logging for spot cleans or one-off jobs. Recurring tasks count towards your compliance score; ad-hoc records sit alongside as supplemental audit evidence without skewing the metrics.
Set up your shifts
From Cleaning › Settings, define your operational shifts (e.g. Opening, Midday, Close). Shifts are shared between the Cleaning and Temperature modules and give your day a clear chronological structure.
Add recurring tasks
Click 'Add task', name it (e.g. 'Wipe down prep surfaces'), pick a frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or per-shift), and assign it to a shift if relevant. Tasks group automatically by frequency on the schedule page.
Complete a task
Open the Cleaning Schedule. Tap anywhere on the task row to mark it complete — your name is captured automatically from your profile. The 5-second Undo toast applies here too if you tap the wrong row, and you can add notes from the task's menu.
Log a Clean (ad-hoc)
Use 'Log a Clean' to record an unscheduled cleaning action that's already been done — useful for spills, customer complaints, or extra deep cleans. These records appear in History but don't affect your compliance percentage.
Assign Task (one-off)
Use 'Assign Task' to create a single-instance job for staff to complete (e.g. 'Strip-clean the salamander on Sunday'). Once done it disappears from the active list — no recurrence to manage.
Review history
Open the History tab on the Cleaning page to filter by date range (Today, Last 7 days, This Month, custom) and export everything as a CSV — including who completed each task, when, and any notes.
Tips
- Start with your CookSafe / SFBB cleaning schedule as a template.
- Weekly and monthly tasks only appear on the day they're due — keeps the daily list short.
- Use 'Assign Task' for end-of-month deep cleans rather than turning them into a permanent recurring item.
